V R Chaudhari takes over as IAF chief

Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Vivek Ram Chaudhari, who took over as the 27th Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) from ACM R.K.S. Bhadauria on Thursday has said his focus would be to enhance the overall capabilities of the IAF. Vivek Chaudhary is from Maharashtra. He has received the Distinguished Service Medal, the Extraordinary Service Medal and the Air Force Medal.

The IAF chief was commissioned into the air force’s fighter stream in December 1982. Before taking charge of his current appointment as vice chief, Chaudhari was the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the operationally critical Western Air Command (WAC).

Vivek Ram Chaudhary has mastered the art of handling various types of fighter jets. He has been part of some of the Air Force’s most important missions like Operation Meghdoot and Operation White Sea.

विवेक चौधरी हे हवाई दलाचे २७ वे प्रमुख

मिग-२९ या लढाऊ विमानाचे पायलट एअर चिफ मार्शल विवेक राम चौधरी ( air chief marshal vr chaudhari ) यांनी आज भारतीय हवाई दल प्रमुखपदाची सूत्रे स्वीकारली. मावळते हवाई दल प्रमुख आरकेएस भदौरिया यांच्याकडून त्यांनी सूत्रे स्वीकारली. विवेक चौधरी हे हवाई दलाचे २७ वे प्रमुख आहेत. विशेष म्हणजे विवेक चौधरी हे महाराष्ट्राचे सुपुत्र आहेत. त्यांना परमविशिष्ट सेवा पदक, अतिविशिष्ट सेवा पदक आणि वायू सेना पदक मिळाले आहे

विवेक चौधरी हे १९८२ मध्ये हवाई दलात दाखल झाले. मिग-२९ या लढाऊ विमानाचे ते पायलट आहेत. आपल्या आतापर्यंतच्या ३९ वर्षांच्या कारकीर्दीत त्यांनी अनेक कमांड आणि स्टाफच्या नेमणुका केल्या आहेत. ते हवाई दलाचे प्रमुख होण्याआधी ते उपप्रमुख (व्हाइस चीफ ऑफ एअर स्टाफ ) होते.

विवेक राम चौधरी यांनी विविध प्रकारची लढाऊ विमाने हाताळण्यात प्राविण्य मिळवले आहे. ते हवाई दलाच्या काही महत्त्वाच्या मोहिमांचा भाग राहिले आहेत. ऑपरेशन मेघदूत आणि ऑपरेशन सफेद सागरमध्ये देखील सहभागी होते.
