Tunisia’s president names Najla Bouden as country’s first female PM
Tunisian President Kais Saied named Najla Bouden as the country’s first female prime minister, two months after assuming executive authority.
Bouden, 63, was assigned to form a new government amid growing domestic and international discontent over the president’s power seizure.
Najla Bouden Romdhane is a 63-year-old geologist with little experience in politics.
Bouden is a lecturer at the National Engineering School of Tunisia. Before being appointed as the Prime Minister of Tunisia, Bouden was assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to implement programmes with the World Bank. She was appointed as Director-General in charge of quality at the Ministry of Higher Education.

कार्यकारी अधिकार स्वीकारल्यानंतर दोन महिन्यांनी ट्युनिशियाचे राष्ट्राध्यक्ष कैस सईद यांनी नजला बौडेन यांची देशातील पहिली महिला पंतप्रधान म्हणून नियुक्ती केली.
राष्ट्रपतींनी सत्ता काबीज केल्यानंतर देशांतर्गत आणि आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरावर वाढत्या असंतोषादरम्यान, 63 वर्षीय बौडेन यांना नवीन सरकार स्थापन करण्याची जबाबदारी देण्यात आली.
नजला बौडेन रोमधने या 63 वर्षीय भूवैज्ञानिक आहेत ज्यांना राजकारणाचा फारसा अनुभव नाही.
बौडेन ट्युनिशियाच्या नॅशनल इंजिनीअरिंग स्कूलमध्ये व्याख्याता आहेत. ट्युनिशियाचे पंतप्रधान म्हणून नियुक्ती होण्यापूर्वी, बौडेन यांना उच्च शिक्षण आणि वैज्ञानिक संशोधन मंत्रालयाने जागतिक बँकेद्वारा राबविल्या जाणाऱ्या कार्यक्रमाची जबाबदारी सोपवली होती. उच्च शिक्षण मंत्रालयात गुणवत्तेच्या प्रभारी महासंचालक म्हणून तिची नियुक्ती करण्यात आली होती.
